Residential Heating & Cooling Services

Your home is a series of interconnected systems, all aimed at keeping you and your family members as comfortable as possible without wasting energy. But knowing this, how is your home performing? Are there areas of your home that seem unaffected by your heating and cooling system, or does the temperature on your thermostat seem to be at odds with the temperature(s) you are actually feeling in your home?

With DocAir’s “science-first” approach to solving the comfort, indoor air quality, and efficiency issues in Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Mt. Juliet, and Hendersonville homes, you can be sure we will identify and resolve the underlying issue with your heating and cooling systems.

Heating Repair & Replacement

No matter how you heat your home—a gas furnace, an oil furnace, a boiler, or a heat pump—the DocAir team can diagnose where your heating issues are coming from, repair your broken equipment, and provide the proper heat load calculations for a replacement furnace in your home. Our expertise goes far beyond the equipment you use to heat your home, and through our diagnostic process, we look at other home performance factors like insulation, the airtight seal of your building envelope, and the overall design of your home.

By addressing your comfort at a whole-home level, we can offer many additional benefits that a traditional heating and cooling contractor might not be able to, like increased indoor air quality and an overall healthier home.

Air Conditioning Repair & Replacement

Your air conditioner is the only relief from the heat and humidity of a Tennessee summer, so when you need AC repair, you need it now! But what good is fixing an air conditioner if the reason it keeps breaking isn’t addressed? Our scientific approach to home heating and cooling has uncovered that many homes in the Nashville area utilize air conditioners that are improperly sized for the cooling load of the home. This can lead to:

  • An uncomfortable home
  • Frequent AC breakdowns
  • Increased cooling costs

DocAir specializes in diagnosing the underlying issues that are causing your air conditioner to work harder than it needs to and can resolve your cooling issues through AC repair, AC replacement, and just about anything else related to your cooling needs.

Ventilation

The heating and cooling systems of your home are inextricably linked to the quality and cleanliness of the air you breathe in your home. In a home that is properly insulated and sealed as close to airtight as possible, proper ventilation is required to keep contaminants from recirculating your air over and over again.

DocAir is here to help you develop a plan for ventilating your home, through properly functioning bathroom and laundry fans that vent to the outside, as well as larger ventilation equipment, such as:

Whole House Fan

A whole house fan operates much like it sounds — a system of fans that actively circulate your stale air outside. Whole house fans provide two purposes: to keep your air clean and fresh, and to provide a cooling breeze in your home for the hot and muggy Tennessee summers. This can keep your home safer, healthier, and more comfortable all year round!

Energy/Heat Recovery Ventilator

Energy recovery ventilators (ERV) and heat recovery ventilators (HRV) operate similarly to whole house fans, but also provide added filtration and energy savings measures to your home. ERVs and HRVs utilize the heat (or lack of heat) in the outgoing air to pre-condition the air coming into your home, allowing for less reliance on your heating and cooling equipment.

Mini Splits & Ground Source Heat Pump Installation

The solution to inefficient and unreliable home comfort isn’t always going to be furnace or air conditioner repair. Some homes utilize heating and cooling equipment that is outdated and might actually cost more to continue using than it would be to replace it entirely. Some homes may have perfectly good heating and air conditioning equipment, but changes to the original blueprint and square footage have made it tough for the conditioned air in your ductwork to reach every space.

At DocAir, we install ground source heat pumps and ductless mini splits as a replacement for inefficient or broken equipment, and for homes that need supplemental heating and cooling help. These efficient heating and cooling devices can provide both heating and cooling settings while using just a fraction of the energy of other HVAC systems.
